LeanForms at Shin-Etsu Silicones
The power of Shin-Etsu Silicones
Shin-Etsu is known worldwide for its leading role in PVC production. A subsidiary of the Japanese company Shin-Etsu Chemical, Shin-Etsu Silicones specializes in the production of high-quality silicones, mainly for the automotive industry. What distinguishes Shin-Etsu is not only product quality, but also their pragmatic approach, fast response times and efficient logistics services.
From challenge to solution
Implementing LeanForms began in response to Shin-Etsu Silicones’ desire to create more visibility and develop more efficient communication channels. It quickly became clear that LeanForms was the appropriate solution.
Previously, they had considered using SharePoint for digital forms, but this proved not to be a suitable option, in part because of its lack of workflow capabilities.
“For us, combining a workflow with a form is one of the most valuable features of LeanForms.”
LeanForms in action
The first concrete application of LeanForms was the digitization of the customer complaint process. This process involved several departments and required a multidisciplinary approach. What the company soon discovered was the significant improvement in communication. Unnecessary emails were reduced, saving an enormous amount of time. In addition, LeanForms provides a clear overview of where each complaint is in the process, enabling more efficient decision-making.
Complete process automation without IT complexity
Real-time insight and visual dashboards
Work smarter, faster and error-free with one system
Eliminate paper streams with efficient digitization
Expansion and optimization
Shin-Etsu Silicones has not been idle after the successful implementation of LeanForms for complaint management. They have now digitized calibrations as well. The process includes laboratory temperature checks and ensuring equipment specifications are met. Thanks to LeanForms, the results of these calibrations are now recorded faster and more efficiently.
Moreover, Shin-Etsu Silicones plans to use LeanForms for even more processes. Incident reports, HR automation and the digitization of test data in the laboratory are on the list of ongoing projects, indicating that LeanForms has become an essential tool for the company. They are also working on integration with Power BI to more actively leverage dashboards.
Support and future prospects
LeanForms’ post-implementation support is rated as excellent. LeanForms’ IT team responds quickly and provides the support needed to ensure Shin-Etsu Silicones gets the most out of the system.
They continue to focus on innovation and strive for even more efficient operations. LeanForms will certainly continue to play a role in that.
“Thanks to LeanForms for complaint management, we now have smoother communication, fewer unnecessary emails and a clearer overview of where we are in the complaint process, which is really a plus.”
