1 Introduction

In principle, the steps in the pathway are performed one after the other: the next step does not begin until the previous step is completed. However, it is possible to “split” a treatment step in the route into several parallel steps. Each of these steps must be completed before the form continues in the route.

2 Methods

Creating a parallel route is done in the same way as a regular route. After defining parallel steps, the route must always converge to a single point before it can be continued. That point can be a treatment step, mail or split. From that point you can continue the route as usual.

Example

Step 2 is split into three separate steps. All three steps 2a, 2b, 2c must be completed before the form moves to the Evaluate step. The order in which the three parallel steps are completed does not matter.

3 Points of attention and tips

  1. The properties of parallel steps are the same as those of ordinary steps. Choose a clear name for each step.
  2. Parallel steps can have users or groups as handlers.
  3. If you try to draw an arrow from a parallel step that does not go to the same point as the arrows from the other parallel steps, a message will be shown that this is not allowed.
  4. Note! A fork is not allowed as a “collection point” after a parallel step. From a split it is also not possible to start a parallel step. Although these options can be drawn, the operation of the form is then incorrect.
