About Hegin Metalfinishing BV
Hegin Metalfinishing BV applies functional (non cosmetic) coatings to products to, for example, prevent corrosion, to preserve the product or to give it other properties. Think of equipment used for the semi conductor market and medical equipment.
Vision of digitization
Herbert and Bram explain their views on digitization:
“Processes will have to be digitized more and more because you need more and more information. You want to have this information available in real time to control the processes. With information that is a few days old you can no longer take timely action.
The world is changing rapidly, you have to keep up with that, and digitization plays a very big role in that.”
The use of LeanForms within Hegin Metalfinishing BV.
Hegin Metalfinishing BV started using LeanForms because it was taking a lot of time to gather data, get it in the right place and be able to use data optimally.
We started recording reject figures, Bram explains. There was a possibility within our own ERP system, but that was a small module. Analyses were very difficult and you had to do a lot of things manually. Succession was also not enforced. Now that we are using LeanForms, these follow-ups do get enforced.
We made a link with our ERP system so that the threshold for entering something is as low as possible. As an operator, you already spend a lot of time if something goes wrong, and then you want to avoid spending a lot of time registering as well.
We also look at how we can make improvements, and as we started working more with LeanForms, a lot more ideas came. We even have a waiting list of employees who want forms digitized with LeanForms. It’s nice to see that employees who are working on processes themselves also see possibilities and in that way LeanForms really starts to live within the company.

With LeanForms, it takes much less time to interpret data because the pre-analysis has already been done and the data is offered in an accessible way.
Possibly everything could also be made through an ERP software specialist, but then you first have to put down requirements in a conversation, then it is implemented and then it turns out in practice it does not work well after all. Or it is not exactly as you had intended. Before the functionality is adjusted, it takes two to three months. Not to mention the costs.
With LeanForms, adjustments are much faster and easier to make, and everything takes much less time.
However, we do spend more time ourselves as we receive more and more questions and set up and expand new systems. We look for good and nice solutions within the forms and workflows ourselves.
