Management review
The management review (also called executive assessment or management review) is about forming an opinion from the board of directors about the effectiveness of the quality system in the organization. Preparing a management assessment or review is a requirement of ISO and will in most cases be performed annually.
The review is about the focused analysis of the system’s output, for example, in the form of audit results. A management review sets new goals including plans to achieve the goals. To determine this data and new goals, a consultation or questioning with management is usually scheduled.
A management review consists of three process steps: preparation, execution and recording. Preparation and capture can be outsourced by top management. The execution, the actual review, is explicitly the responsibility and task of top management. The quality manager ensures that the entire process is carried out in a controlled manner.
