What is a KMS?
A quality management system (KMS) is a system that defines processes, procedures, roles and responsibilities for achieving quality goals. In this way, activities to improve quality are coordinated.
A quality management system is much more than a quality manual. It also involves strategy and tactics, organizational design, tasks, powers and responsibilities, norms and values, knowledge management, attitude and behavior.
The benefits of such a system are great. Whereas previously you had to obtain information from various departments, business units or branches (and make sense of it yourself), now everything is housed in one system. This gives you the desired information on your screen with just a few mouse clicks. You can then use this information, for example, to implement improvements within the organization.
