Workflow management focuses on organizing, modeling, controlling and analyzing information flows within organizations.
The goal of workflow management is to control information, understand tasks, determine needs and establish and optimize processes, usually using automated means.
By following workflows, you work efficiently and purposefully, allowing you to achieve your goals faster. It is always clear to every employee involved what the status and progress of a particular workflow is, whether they are in the office or at a customer. This prevents people from, for example, working past each other or duplicating work. Through workflow management, it is clear for each step in the process (the route) who is responsible for the task in question. In this way, customers are served better, faster and more customer-friendly.
