Customer Testimonial: Victor Buyck
Victor Buyck Steel Construction (VBSC) is a leading international steel construction company. With ingenious solutions and a dedicated team, VBSC contributes to the success of its clients in both the public and private sectors.
Their clients are primarily located in Europe, but they have also launched projects (such as bridges or bridge components) in Ghana, Trinidad, Panama, and Malaysia.
The Use of LeanForms within VBSC
VBSC builds structures such as bridges, lock gates, and high-rise buildings—in short, infrastructure that is accessible to the public. This type of work requires extensive record-keeping to ensure the safety of the structures. To manage this record-keeping in a structured manner, they began using LeanForms.
Although there are still many ideas in the pipeline for further expanding the use of LeanForms within VBSC in the future, the current focus is on quality management in the construction of components, as well as safety inspections in manufacturing.
Quality Inspection Form
With the introduction of the quality inspection form, many things have become clearer, both for production staff and for QC inspectors.
Previously, there were discrepancies between what the production staff understood and what the QC staff meant. Open-ended responses, which were open to interpretation, often led to confusion.
That’s impossible when using LeanForms, because the form effectively asks for “yes or no” answers. The questions are phrased clearly and intelligently, leaving no room for interpretation.
The quality inspection form is very user-friendly. The form contains a few hundred questions, but users are shown only the questions that are relevant to them. Anything that does not apply to a specific user is not displayed.
The form changes as you fill it out.
Benefits of Working with LeanForms
“You don’t have to be a software developer to build a form, which also makes the system very easy to maintain,” said Karel Hecke.
This can sometimes be more difficult with, for example, a custom-built ERP or MRP system.
For VBSC, the added value of LeanForms compared to other software packages is that you can have the forms follow a specific workflow. This eliminates the need to work with all sorts of separate PDF files.
For VBSC, the ultimate goal of using LeanForms is to raise quality to a higher level, thereby reducing the number of repairs and ensuring that the right things are checked at the right time.
“Withthe introduction of the quality inspection form, many things have become clearer, both for production staff and for QC inspectors.”
