From Registration to Process

When shop floor data, process knowledge, and systems come together, clarity emerges. This interconnection was the focus of the MKG and LeanForms inspiration afternoon on July 1, 2026. At the Brainport Industries Campus (BIC) in Eindhoven, the discussion centered on how to make information from the field immediately usable within your processes.

Many manufacturing companies face the same challenges every day. How do you ensure that data is complete and up-to-date? How do you prevent duplicate entries? And how do you maintain control over processes that are constantly expanding?

To illustrate these questions in concrete terms, MKG and LeanForms demonstrated how shop floor data and ERP come together within the process—not as separate systems, but as a single, integrated whole.

 

From Registration to Process

During the afternoon, it became clear that digitization doesn’t start with software, but with actual practice. How is information recorded? What happens to it afterward? And where do delays or errors occur?

As explained during the session:

“We help companies digitize not only their forms, but also the processes behind them.”

It is precisely that step—from registration to processing—that determines whether information truly adds value.

Learning from Real-World Experience

A key part of the afternoon was the case study presented by Ter Hoek. It demonstrated how the combination of MKG and LeanForms is applied in practice.

Making data immediately available within the process provides a clearer overview and reduces manual work.

Process Control in Practice

In addition to the case study, the session focused on process control and the interrelationships between various components, such as quality management, risk analysis, and product development.

An important consideration in this regard is the integration between systems. As one of the attendees pointed out:

“This makes it possible to fill out forms more accurately, without having to retype the information.”

Many attendees could relate to the challenge of preventing duplicate entries and working with a single source of truth.

More than Just an Inspirational Afternoon

What this afternoon demonstrated is that improvement does not occur within a single system, but rather in the interplay between processes, systems, and working methods.

By combining practical experience with process knowledge and technology, participants gained a clearer picture of how they can further improve their own processes.
